Obverse description: Athenian owl facing left, Aramaic text meaning “Judaea”.
Obverse legend: Yehud (יהד, YHD)
Reverse description: Head of Athena with wreath.
Notes: There are many variety of this coin. On rare types, the owl faces left.

Notes: Some issues have the inscription on the left, and some are retrograde (Hendin 429v). Hezekiah may be the one mentioned by Titus Flavius Josephus in his book “Against Apion” [quoting Hecateus]: “Ptolemy got possession of the places in Syria after that battle at Gaza; and many, when they heard of Ptolemy's moderation and humanity, went along with him to Egypt, and were willing to assist him in his affairs; one of whom [Hecateus says] was Hezekiah the high priest of the Jews”

Obverse description: Athenian owl on right, Greek text left standing for Athens. The middle letter (Θ) is moved up to give space for the Aramaic text meaning “Yaddua”.
Obverse legend: Yaddua (ידוע, YDUA)
Reverse description: Lily
Notes: Yaddua is mentioned in Neḥamia 12:10-11.
